The verdict is in! Nicolas Ghesquière will replace Marc Jacobs as Louis Vuitton’s creative director. The rumors have been circling around for the past months and now it’s official. I was sad to see Jacobs depart from the French power house to focus on the Marc Jacobs brand’s IPO, marking the end of an era. Ghesquière, on the other hand has been without a fashion house last year after he was kicked to the curb by Balenciaga and replaced by Alexander Wang. I do understand why they chose Ghesquière to replace Jacobs, as he is very edgy and avant-garde. I do believe that he is up to the task, I just hope they realize that Jacobs left very large shoes to fill though.
